I like it! Only thing I could say is that he was more of a war hammer person.

That is a war hammer, just a 2 handed version

Is it? Cause to me it looks like a pike with a hammer blade in the middle.

In the books, it was described as this huge clunky mallet that had spikes all over the blunt end.

pikes are just really long and heavy spears, this is decidedly a warhammer or i suppose the term Polehammer might be more accurate

A pole-hammer correct. But when the term WarHammer comes to use, this is what you'd see.

That's at least what was closest to what the book describes it as. The actual book says he carried a massive spiked war hammer instead of a pole-hammer

yeah, but to be fair, George R.R Martin doesn't always have the most realistic combat and weapons in the books so the fact this artist went for a more history based weapon is fine with me

That is true. There is nothing wrong with Infernal's choice of a pole-hammer, but I just feel that he's better described with an actual hammer
(which did exist in the Medieval ages, they just weren't popular because they are big, clunky and slow.)

Really cool. I like how stylish yet functional it looks. Will we see an armour for Stannis or Roose at some point?

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

There are a few, older drawings of Stannis in my gallery. One day I'll get around to drawing him and Roose - but I am currently working through some other projects that I will hopefully post here soon.

this is really cool, I hate to criticize even a little bit but Roberts helm has the antlers of a stag, you gave him the antlers of a moose.

Hey thanks, glad you like! And yes, I've gotten the moose comment a bit haha. It's actually based on the antlers of a Fallow Deer, which bear some similarities with moose antlers. I have debated trying different sets of horns, but became rather attached to these.

I think that the stag antlers might make him look more ferocious!

I'd like to see more heraldry on him, more yellow. What about the heraldic robes on his armour, like this guy?

Other than that, it's quality work!

Yeah I had initially meant to do two version - one with the surcoat and one without. But once I finished this version of the armor (I've done 4 others) I decided against it. Perhaps version 6 will be more ornate, as befits a king.

Sorry, had to comment this one, too :P I always wondered about Robert's warhammer. It says in the books that it was so heavy that Eddard Stark could scarcely lift it, which is likely hyperbolic, but even so it's hard to imagine what such a cumbersome weapon would look like... What the author describes and what the reader imagines are hardly ever one and the same, and I imagined something along the lines of what you've given him; a heavy, very ornate Lucerne warhammer or a pollaxe, not a massive sledgehammer.
Awesome work on the armour, as always :)
