Norman Knight by InfernalFinn Norman Knight by InfernalFinn
The finished knight, inspired after watching Braveheart during Thanksgiving.

I realized that when I was younger I always thought Normans were villains...well what can you expect with childhood heroes like Robin Hood and Ivanhoe.

As a protostrator in the service of his majesty the basileus i can tell you those Norman barbarians are quite a pest indeed. ;-)

Nice work, by the way scabbard should not be on the same side as the sword hand. umbo is a little bit to high on the shield. But for the rest nice work , nice texture i love the wood on the shield.

Thanks, I'm glad you like! As far as the scabbard, even though I have a ton of reference, whenever I'm in the zone drawing I always seem to forget which side to put the scabbard on haha. It's something I'm trying to be more conscious of these days, but I always appreciate it when people point out things I can improve on.

These are amazing!

I want to make a real costume based on this and your William pics!

Have you researched the Normans and the authentic fashions of the time?

Well, being English, I've always seen the Normans as villians, considering those French gits took over our country from the Saxons.

Very nice, looks historically correct. Excellentuse of patterns and textures. One problem I notice though is that his sword arm seems wonky, perhaps too long.
