On Productivity, Improvements and Critique

Tue Mar 24, 2009, 9:09 PM
So it's been a while since last I've posted a journal. I do more stalking than posting as of late on Deviant Art. What I do post are usually works-in-progress, and for that I am sorry. It turns out that aside from the rough sketches that fill my sketchbooks and litter my work space, I work painfully and unacceptably slow: one of many faults I hope to remedy.

I've taken it upon myself to exercise my soft and flabby drawing skills, as it has been made apparent to me that I learn most from 'doing' instead of... well not doing. Since opening this account on DA, I've received numerous watches, favorites and what I cherish above either of the former: comments and feedback. There's nothing I love more than to receive a piece of advice or critique in the hopes that my next drawing will be even marginally better. Therefore, I would have any person reading this, or who happens upon my gallery to leave their thoughts and input. It means much more to me than an absentminded 'favorite' (though I appreciate those for their part as well). If you have an idea, an improvement, an inspiration, a story, anything, I would hear it. I love getting into discussions about art, particularly when it involves something I'm passionate about. The beauty of Deviant Art is that anyone is capable of posting their art, and everyone can have a voice.

So let me know your thoughts, and as always, thank you for your support!

A fellow knight enthusiast! I keep coming back again to your work, and you keep getting better. You're the best knight artist here on dA, I do believe!

No problem, all of your Song of Ice and Fire maps are beautifully realized.

Ride you wolverines!

A quick thought on an author you might like for Arthurian work, E. A. Robinson and his Arthurian Poems. It's a fantastic body of work full of character. I found it accidentally while I was looking for another source one day. And I love it.

Knightly Rules:

Rule #1: If, in your travels, you come across a red pavillion in the woods DO NOT assume it is for you, because the owner will probably mistake you for his mistress while you are asleep. This can only end badly.

Nice gallery! :D

Perhaps we need to have dreams so wild they make us think we can't achieve them, but inspiring enough to make us try...

You just _have_ to draw some Kingsguard members from ASOIAF in their pure white armors! I really like your work and I'm convinced you would make the Kingsguard look absolutely amazing.

You have a fantastic skill and a great gallery. I absolutely adore your pictures.
